My Thanksgiving Coloring Book

This Coloring Book is designed to teach young children about the very first American Thanksgiving. Children associate turkey crafts and family dinners with Thanksgiving, but do they know why Americans started celebrating it in the first place? Most children might not realize that Thanksgiving is actually a Christian holiday intended for prayer and giving thanks to God for His blessings.

This My Thanksgiving Coloring Book teaches children about the Pilgrims who first came to America on a ship called the Mayflower. They will learn that the first year was cold and hard for the first settlers. They will learn about the Native Americans who had already lived here for a long time and how they taught the Pilgrims how to grow food on this land. Children will read about how the Pilgrims and Native Americans thanked God for the food they grew and harvested and they enjoyed a big feast, the very first Thanksgiving.

After your children color the pages about the first Thanksgiving, they will enjoy space to draw a picture of something they are thankful for. They will color a turkey, list 5 things they are thankful for, and memorize a Bible verse:

Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

I left space on the left column of each page for binding the pages together so your child will have a book he or she colored to read over and over again.
